Visiting Professor: Dr. Akash Sharma

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Akash Sharma, who will present “Radiotracer Biodistribution – A case-based approach” at noon conference on Wednesday, April 6, as part of the virtual visiting professor series.

Dr. Sharma is an Assistant Professor of radiology and Nuclear Medicine consultant at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He also serves as program director for the newly esablished one year Nuclear Radiology Fellowship Program at Mayo Clinic Florida. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic, Dr. Sharma worked in both academic setting at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and private practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One of his many interests is to make excellent education and trainee well-being a priority.

Dr. Sharma completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Hartford Hospital and completed fellowships in Nuclear Medicine and Pediatric Radiology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Saint Louis Children’s Hospital, respectively. Dr. Sharma is a member of the ACR Economics Committee on Nuclear Medicine and chairs the Research Committee for the Mayo Clinic Florida Department of Radiology.
